Through the Social Employment Fund (SEF), Planact provides community members with the opportunity to earn an income while providing their community with valuable services that support locally-driven initiatives to fulfil local needs, ultimately building local participation, supporting agency and creativity, and strengthening community-based support systems. Social employment recognises that unemployed people in communities are an untapped asset for community development. Planact has managed to increase its impact in partner communities by creating 1000 job opportunities around various themes such as community safety, food security and nutrition, digital mapping and addressing, support against gender-based violence, recycling and maintenance, place-making, health and community wellness as well as environment – Wetland Preservation
