The Asivikelane HUBs Model

As our Asivikelane initiative enters its 4th year, we are changing the way we operate!

Asivikelane 2.0 will be built using multi-stakeholder platforms (Hubs) focusing on specific service delivery problems. We hope to replicate this multi-stakeholder approach across other metros throughout South Africa. Hub participants will work together to find solutions to service delivery issues and underlying budget challenges.

In partnership with City of Tshwane, we aim to ensure that communities live in a healthier #environment by reducing the dumping and burning of #waste through improved waste management.

In partnership with Johannesburg Water, an entity of City of Johannesburg we aim to eradicate Ventilated Improved Pit Toilets that are dangerous and unusable while fixing and maintaining those that are usable and fixable.

The best part is that residents are still at the centre of the HUBs model, and they will work together with other stakeholders to find solutions to service delivery issues and underlying #budget challenges.
